This flute has been meticulously cared for by one owner, and is in excellent used condition. When originally shopping for a new flute, he compared many of the best brands, and finally settled on this Mateki as his favorite, partly because the quality of the mechanism was unmatched. He ended up special ordering this customized flute with the upgraded .997 silver body and .943 silver keys, along with the other specs. It took ten months to complete. He also found that the Powell 14k Aurumite headjoint complimented it so well, that he opted to purchase it instead of the Mateki headjoint, which is the reason for the current configuration. My tech. has just completed a COA on it and, without hearing my opinion first, he commented on the excellent quality of the mechanism and the beautiful orchestral sound of the Powell headjoint. Playability Wow. I really enjoyed testing this instrument! The fluid and buttery mechanism is exceptionally smooth, making very rapid passages flow almost effortlessly. That, combined with the richness of the Powell Aurumite 14k headjoint, is outstanding. The sound is extremely balanced in all registers, and is rich and soothing. Excellent!
