About This Flute:
Orignally bought new in 1984 at Weissman Music in NY,  this Miyazawa Classic (now Vision) has been meticulously cared-for by one owner, and has always been regularly serviced by Miyazawa (receiving Straubinger pads along the way).  It recently had a $300 COA, also at Miyazawa.

If a flute could tell a story, this one would have lots to say;  It's been around the world to many places, including the Caribbean, Mediterranean, Greece, and Italy.

About the Owner
An interesting tidbit about the history of the owner :  he first became interested in playing the flute during WWII when he was in the 5th Army in Italy.  Kostalanetz, the conductor of the NY Philharmonic, came to Europe to play for the troops.  He brought the orchestra so close to the combat line, that during the Overture of 1812, instead of using the timpani for the cannonading, he let the sound of the actual shelling substitute for Tchaikovsky's orchestration.

But it was when the orchestra played Copeland's Applachian Spring, that he was completely taken in.  He said:

"The two flute solos in the first movement were the most beautiful thing a kid from NY ever heard.  Tore my heart out."

This eventually led him to become a flutist, and ultimately to purchase this flute in 1984.

The Classic vs. the Current Vision
My understanding is that very few changes have been made to the Vision, which has replaced the Classic.  The Vision:
-is made of .958 silver
-has the Brogger system
-has Straubinger pads (which this Classic has)

Specs:
-sterling silver head, body, keys and mechanism
-inline G with offset extender (can be easily removed)
-B foot w/ gizmo
-drawn toneholes
-Straubinger Pads
-A=442

Included is the original wood slimline wood case in excellent condition except for some light scratches on the underside. Comes with a cleaning rod and removable plugs for the holes.

Condition:
Excellent used condition, meticulously cared-for and maintained, with minimal signs of wear (some light surface scratches here and there).  There are no dents and no tarnish.

Price Comparison:
A comparable new flute with similar specs would be $9995.

The owner would like to see someone enjoy this flute, so is asking the reasonable price of $4700 plus shipping.
