Low to Mid Registers #1 Low to Mid Registers #2 Response Skips and Leaps History of This Headjoint
A rare find, this brand new headjoint was hand made by Edward Almeida in the late 1980's or early 90's, and then stored away safely in a family vault until now. It has never had another owner. About Edward Almeida: Expert flute-maker and former employee/protege of Verne Q. Powell, Almeida became one of the four new owners of the company in the early 1960s when Powell retired. He eventually began to make flutes with his own name on them, earning the respect of seasoned flutists around the world. His workmanship demonstrated determination to preserve the quality of the original Powell flutes, while adding a flavor of his own creativity. He passed away in 1992, leaving this unused headjoint in the family vault. Specs: -Sterling Silver -Hand Cut The owner is also offering a rosewood case with the headjoint (ask me about this). Playability -Exceptionally clean and crisp response -Resonant and vibrant focused and pure tone in every register -Resistant enough to allow for plenty of depth and volume, and yet tapers easily and gracefully -Rich low register I thoroughly enjoyed testing this headjoint. It is resistant enough to provide a wide range of dynamics and color without sacrificing ease of playing. The response (how crisply and easily quickly tongued passages "pop" out with very little effort) is notable. Pricing:
